Woes of Current Generation
The generation that has made it by storm is currently becoming a pressing issue to not only corporations but also towards various organizations. Millennials, they call them. A generation comprising of 30% of the global population and making their mark through their unsurpassed talents. This is a generation that is making their mark to be "leaders of tomorrow". The "well-branded" generation who have been provided with technological savvy gadgets; i-gadgets, smartphones, tablets, internet, open-network. A generation whom they call the "Me Generation" simply because technology has been part and parcel of their daily life. They have been hurled with many insults; lazy, undisciplined, disorganized, not capable, etc. However, if there is a chance to be in their shoes, would you label them the same again? A generation that is trapped with the unemployment bubble as the economic woes continue to bubble through globally. Staggering rise in human population has also lowered their per capita income as well as increasing the inflation level. Parading of women's rights have also contributed to the unemployment as more women are presiding over the executive departments. Take a step back and look at how property prices have soared by almost two times the value while salaries remain at an all time low as the supply of graduates simply lowers the price of the demand. Who is there to fend for their survival? Is there even an organization looking at this matter? Indeed, employers may deem them as "dysfunctional" but they are multitasking like never before whilst being paid at such a low expense. Then comes the Baby Boomers who still in need of their jobs as their life savings barely lasts them for another 10 years after retirement. Imagine, a generation that has to work on a job of three and paid at less than one. The inequality is simply too large and they have also been said to be the "Homeless Generation". If women's equality is sanctioned, why not employees' equality as well. Why with the hidden agenda of inequality amongst the millennials especially in lowering their salaries. The millennials did not ask to be a "scapegoat" but it seems they have been indoctrinated to suffer just like that of "Baby Boomers". How about the X-Generation who did not undergo such suffering? Are they not raking in huge profits and pretty much enjoying their life during such an economic turmoil? Indeed, if there is a pressing need to understand the Millennials, why not try to discuss with them in an honest disposition? In short, Millennials are neither lazy nor unproductive as alleged. They are just smart casual yet witty in their way of life.
